For more than a decade, David and Brian have been extremely proud of the place they call home. But over the years, the 1913 house has required some significant improvements, including replacing the furnace, and fixing plumbing and electrical wiring issues. Not wanting to continue dipping into their retirement savings, they turned to the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership for help.
By accessing an Essential Repair loan through INHP, David and Brian could remain homeowners. Yet, there were other areas of the home needing minor repairs and sprucing up. On April 7 and 8, nearly 20 volunteers from Salesforce, MainSource Bank and Calvary Lutheran Church pitched in to paint, landscape and clean the home – a gesture allowing David and Brian peace of mind that their home will continue to provide the satisfaction and comfort they always wanted.
Do you want to help INHP families like David and Brian? Volunteer groups and individuals of all skill sets are needed to support INHP families and our mission to increase sustainable housing opportunities. Volunteers will spend time painting, cleaning and making small repairs needed to improve homes in Indianapolis neighborhoods. If you or your group is interested in participating in a volunteer project day, please contact Felisha Clark at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit give.inhp.org/volunteer.
