On August 1, the Indianapolis African American Quality of Life Initiative (IAAQLI) announced the first round of grants to be awarded to not-for-profit organizations working to improve the quality of life for African American residents in Marion County. INHP was one of 40 recipients selected in the round, chosen by the National Urban League, and will receive $1 million.
The funding will be used to continue making progress in our Equitable Transit Oriented Development program, and specifically to assist a Black developer build multifamily housing on two sites in majority Black neighborhoods. The grant will help fund the capital stack required to initiate the project.
